While Juneteenth was officially recognized as a national holiday in 2021, it was never unnoticed. And it was on full display Saturday at Kissimmee Lakefront Park, where there was a community of African Americans coming together and celebrating life. With food vendors, black owned products, black owned art, community resources, and music, there was something special about the event. It was the people.
There was music playing that celebrated the culture. Even though the rain started, it didn’t — and doesn’t — mean the celebration stops. Juneteenth is a holiday that educates us to motivate others, and a celebration that will forever be cherished.
