AdventHealth has recently filed plans with Osceola County to build a new medical campus across from Liberty High School. AdventHealth’s application includes rezoning for four parcels on Pleasant Hill Rd. The proposal includes an 11,565 square-foot free standing Emergency Department and a fourstory, 4,800 square foot medical/dental office. Plans also include an outpatient surgery center, a helipad and rehabilitation center.

Plans have also been filed for a self-storage facility next to Poinciana High School. Island Estate Group owns the 10-acre parcel at the corner of Poinciana and Octavia Boulevard, just north of the high school. The self-storage facility will occupy 1.9 acres, and the remaining eight acres are slated to be an apartment complex of approximately 250 units in a 3 or 4-story building.

This boom in growth will bring long needed retail options, a chain sit-down restaurant and job opportunities within the community.

There are still two weekends left to wear your festive attire and continue Holiday Bingo Nights at the Poinciana Community Center (445 Marigold Ave.) Bingo is for ages 18 and over and there will be karaoke from 6-7 p.m. First Bingo number will be called at 7 p.m. Food trucks will also be onsite.

Save the date! Sixth and ninth-grade orientation and curriculum nights for Osceola County school district are happening later in January. Locally, Orientation Night will be Monday, Jan. 22, 2024 from 6-7:30 p.m. at all Middle and K-8 schools. Incoming 9th grade Curriculum Night will be Monday, Jan. 29 from 6-7:30 at all High Schools. Students and parents of rising sixth and ninth graders are invited to meet their new principals, get an idea of what classes are offered, make their way around the campus and learn about the curriculum, clubs, extra-curricular sports and more.
