Observe Memorial Day Monday at Mount Peace Cemetery

Memorial Day is a holiday to commemorate Americans who made the ultimate sacrifice while serving in the military. This day of remembrance falls on the last Monday of May each year.  In observance of Memorial Day, there will be a wreath laying ceremony on Monday at 10 a.m. at the Mount Peace Cemetery (755 E. 10th St.) Take some time to remember the men and women who gave their lives in service of protecting our nation’s freedom. 

 

The next downtown St. Cloud Monthly Market finally comes next Wednesday, May 31 (because, you know, fifth Wednesday!) from 5-9 p.m.  Over 150 local pop-up vendors will be on-site.  You can also browse shops, boutiques, restaurants, enjoy live music and food trucks. 

In addition, the St. Cloud Women’s Club Heritage Museum is now open on St. Cloud’s Market Wednesday from 5 to 7 p.m.  Their current exhibit for May and June is focused on St. Cloud Police Department.

Wednesday is also the last Historic Tour of downtown St. Cloud for the season, at 5:30 p.m.  Join Ron McCracken for this guided walking tour that takes you back in time to the early days of St. Cloud’s beginnings. Learn about the history rich in development, a fire that ruined apart of downtown and some of the newer additions to the City.

Wednesday is also St. Cloud Main Street’s last Ghost Tour, starting at at 8 p.m.  Learn about the ghosts lurking about on this tour, which features multiple stops along the ghostly trail.  Guests will receive a goody bag. Can you feel the buzz? 3Bez Honey Farm, Inc. will hold an event Saturday, June 3 at its 1114 New York Ave location.  If you are interested in learning more about bees, bee keeping, how honey is extracted from the hives and bottled, then this event is for you.  Bee Keeper Robert Crisp will hold 45-minute lectures beginning at 11 a.m. through 3 p.m.  This fourth-generation bee keeper will be able to answer any questions you may have.  In addition, you may purchase any honey that you wish to bottle and label yourself.  The type of honey being extracted is saw palmetto.  No registration is required for this unique event. 

 

Is there a future leader in your life?  Teens ages 13-14 are invited to the City of St. Cloud’s Future Leaders Camp taking place Monday, June 5 to Friday, Aug. 4 from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m.  Students will learn job hunting skills, professional development and participate in career fairs.  The cost is $120 per week for residents and $130 for non-residents.  Register online at www.webtrac.stcloudfl.gov.
