Memorial Day is a holiday to commemorate Americans who died while serving in the military. In observance of the solemn holiday, there will be a wreath laying ceremony on Monday at 10 a.m. at the Mount Peace Cemetery on 10th Street. Take some time to remember the men and women who gave their lives in service of protecting our nation’s freedom. 
Looking for a way to honor Soldiers City’s Hometown Heroes?  Purchase a commemorative sign to honor them.  The signs will be on display at the annual Mount Peace event, as well as the annual Wreaths Across America event in December. Signs are $25 each. For more information, call 407-957-7243.

 

The City of St. Cloud Summer Home School Edition event happens on Friday, May 24 from 12:30-3 p.m. at the Chris Lyle Aquatic Center.  Join in for swimming, music, food and fun to celebrate the end of the school year. The cost is $10 per person. Register at www.webtrac.stcloudfl.gov.

 

The next Downtown Monthly Market will be on Wednesday, May 29 from 5-9 p.m.  Enjoy a friendly family night of shopping local vendors and crafters as well as pop-up vendors and food trucks. The free event is staged along New York and Pennsylvania avenues from 10th to 12th Street.


Sami’s Park Pop-up, presented by Advent Health and the City of St. Cloud, takes place on Saturday, May 25th at Goodwin Park, 317 Delaware Ave. from 10 a.m. to 12 noon.  Kids can enjoy bounce houses, surprise activities and giveaways.  There will also get to meet Sami, the Sandhill Crane.

 

An open house for the St. Cloud City Hall expansion takes place on Wednesday, June 5 from 3-5 p.m.  The community is invited to see the city’s additional space.  Tours will be available, and several city departments will share information on the services they provide. 

 

Are you looking for a fun and different way to exercise and socialize?  St. Cloud Parks and Recreation has pickleball open gym at St. Cloud Civic Center Monday thru Friday from 10:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.  The fee is $3 per person per day.  This event is for adults ages 18 and up. For more information, call 407-957-7243.
