College honors for local scholars

Here’s a list of honors and degrees earned by Osceola County residents from out-of-state institutions in Fall 2023, as shared by news service Merit Pages News, or the schools’ media relations offices:

Jordan Green of Kissimmee was one of 14 Shenandoah University students and alumni inducted into the Omicron Delta Kappa (ODK) national leadership honor society on Sunday, Feb. 4. Students were nominated by faculty and staff for excelling in both leadership and academics, and members were selected to ODK through an application process.

Georgia Tech in Atlanta presented degrees to approximately 6,300 undergraduate and graduate students during the Institute’s 265th Commencement exercises Dec. 15-16, 2023, including Zhuoqi Cai of Kissimmee and Tara Ekram Nia of Celebration. In addition, Sruti Gandreti of St. Cloud was named to Georgia Tech Dean’s List for the Fall 2023 semester.

Jalyssa Nazario of St. Cloud graduated from The University of Tampa on Friday, Dec. 15. Nazario received a Bachelor of Arts in History. In addition, Michael LaMonica and Kelsey Bustos of Kissimmee and Taylor Skolnick of Poinciana were named to the UT Dean’s List.

Michelle Tiezzi Galhardo Viana of Celebration graduated from The College of St. Scholastica (Duluth, Minn.) in Fall 2023 with a DPT in Physical Therapy.

Rebeka Benge and Jaiya Naitram of St. Clound and Brooke Singleton of Kissimmee were named to the Flagler College (St. Augustine) President’s List.

Muhlenberg College (Allentown, Pa.) has named Emmy Lin and Marcelina Palmer of St. Cloud to the Fall 2023 semester Dean’s List.

Christina Stoll of Kissimmee has been named to the Dean’s List at Hamilton College (Clinton, N.Y.) for the 2023 fall semester.

Juliana Calderone from Kissimmee has been named to the Dean’s List at Coastal Carolina (Conway, S.C.) University.

Trinity Christian College (Palos Heights, Ill.) named Aalyssa Gunn of Kissimmee to the Fall 2023 Dean’s List.
