Central Florida’s leading receiver will play the next four years at Southeastern University in Lakeland.

St. Cloud Bulldog wide receiver Romeo Media made it official on Friday, signing in front of 200 students at the school’s gym on campus.

“From my first visit, they made me feel like I belonged,” Medina said. “The coaches made me feel welcome and I loved the school and facilities. On offense, they love to throw the ball and run a wide open offense like we did here at St. Cloud. I’m really excited about being able playing there the next four years,” Medina said.

A native of California, Medina’s family moved to Central Florida prior to his freshman year. After spending one year at Celebration, the family moved into the St. Cloud zone. Medina played his sophomore year primarily at running back before switching fulltime to wide receiver prior to his junior year. In the last two seasons, Medina caught 85 passes for 1366 yards and 17 touchdowns.

His 57 receptions his senior season was the most in the county. He tallied 892 receiving yards and scored eight touchdowns.

“The entire St. Cloud program is so incredibly of Romeo,” St. Cloud Head Coach Bryan Smart said. “He was such a dedicated and hard-working kid. He had some options, but I think Southeastern is a great fit for him. They run a pass-first offense, which will suit his game and the close proximity to St. Cloud will allow all of us a chance to watch him in person.”

Medina intends to major in political science and sees his future in politics.
