I’m not ready for 90 degrees

It’s been a crazy last couple of weeks for weather temperatures.

Up and down the thermostat. So, just out of curiosity on Wednesday, I asked Siri what the temperatures were going to be for the next 10 days. She said, “I’m going to tell you Brian because you’re going to complain.”

No, not really.

But my iPhone did show it’s likely to hit 90 on March 4. Now, I’m going to complain.

I’m not ready for 90 degrees yet.

Like many of you, I love, love the cool Florida days. I like when it only gets into the 60s. I like when it drops into the 40s at night. I can open my patio doors and get a blanket. Well, until the point my wife says, “It’s freezing in here.”

The cool winter Florida weather is why we suffer in August. It’s the pay off. When the sun is leaning on your shoulder saying, “How ya doing buddy?”

Not having to run my air conditioning to and from work makes my SUV happy. Not having to run it in the house makes my wallet happier.

I am not ready for 90 degrees yet.

While they are impressive, I’m not ready for the summer thunderstorms. They always seem to roll around when I get off work at 5:30 p.m. Driving home, trying to dodge lighting bolts and slowing down to 5 mph, just so I can see 10 feet in front of me in blinding rain, is no birthday party.

I’m not ready for 90 degrees yet.

Well, at least I’m going to enjoy the weekend. Saturday will have a low of 42.

Sorry honey, I’m opening the patio door.
