A man Kissimmee Police say was part of a July 11 deadly stabbing at the Days Inn on West Vine Street has been captured an arrest.
Jihad Basil Scott was was arrested by the Morrisville (N.C.) Police Department and extradited to the Osceola County Jail on Wednesday, where he is held without bond pending his Oct. 5 arraignment. He is held on one charge of premeditated murder, four counts of kidnapping and three counts of burglary with assault.
Police say during the incident, Scott, 32, and Keith Swinton Jr, 26, were waiting for the victim, later identified as Javaris Florestial, who had reportedly stolen items from another person's room, in a room at the hotel around 12:49 a.m. When Florestial went to enter the room, police say the suspects chased him outside near a fence, where the victim was punched, kicked and ultimately fatally stabbed.
Swinton was arrested on July 22 and is held in the Osceola jail on the same charges. Court records show both men spent time in jail on 2021 felony drug possession charges.
