Woman hit, killed Tuesday morning trying to cross U.S. 192

A 54-year-old woman was hit and killed in Kissimmee Tuesday morning trying to cross U.S. Highway 192.
According to a Florida Highway Patrol report, a 27-year-old woman of Kissimmee was driving a van westbound on U.S. 192 at about 6:29 a.m., when the victim attempted to cross the highway, just west of Simpson Road.
The victim walked directly into the path of the van and was hit, the report stated. The woman was pronounced dead on scene. The van driver was not injured.
The crash remains under investigation.
