Poinciana Homeowners, save the date.

On Tuesday, Feb. 11, members of the Association of Poinciana Villages (every home or land owner in any of the villages) will be voting to fill the empty lower board seats.

Voting will take place at the Poinciana Community Center, 445 Marigold Ave. Voting is from at 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., and will be counted immediately after the official close (7 p.m.).

All homeowners should vote. This is part of owning a home in a HOA community such as Poinciana. To vote, your name must appear on the county deed (either Polk or Osceola).Your Federal identification will be checked before you receive a ballot. Following the election, the “lower board” will meet on Wednesday, Feb. 12, at 8 a.m. at the Poinciana Community Center.

The “lower board’ will elect one member from each village board to sit on the Master Board. At 9 a.m., your new Master Board will meet for the first time.

This is how the Association of Poinciana Villages operates, according to their bylaws. Homeowners should exercise their right to vote.

The Hispanic American Cultural, Educational and Recreational Club (HACER) will host a community meeting on Wednesday, Feb. 5, at 6:30 p.m., to discuss the issues of ATVs and tractor trailers running rampant in certain villages in Poinciana. Serious accidents have occurred with ATV’s operating illegally on roadways.

Although not permitted in Poinciana, tractor trailers are parking on local streets and right-of-ways.

This meeting will be held at Poinciana’s Polk County Fire House, 9500 Marigold Ave. Invited guests include Polk County Commissioner Martha Santiago, Polk and Osceola County sheriff ’s offices, Code Enforcement and the Association of Poinciana Villages.

The Poinciana Friends of the Library will hold their first Mini Book Sale on Wednesday, Feb. 5.

The Mini Book Sale will be held from 10 a.m. to noon at the Poinciana Branch Library, 101 N. Doverplum Ave.
