2 other suspects "accounted for"
The Osceola County Sheriff's Office reported Friday that the suspect killed in a shooting Thursday night at the Walmart on Cypress Parkway was a 16-year-old who lived in Poinciana.
A Sheriff's spokesperson also said detectives have "identified and accounted for" the two male subjects that were with the deceased suspect during the incident that occurred just before 8 p.m. Thursday, but they have not yet been arrested.
One is a juvenile and one is an adult in his 20s, the Sheriff's Office said.
Sheriff Chris Blackmon noted Thursday night that the store's loss prevention officer and an off-duty Sheriff's deputy attempted to meet the three subjects at the front of the store after staff determined they had concealed merchandise on their persons.
Since the incident is an officer-involved shooting, the Florida Department of Law Enforcement is now heading up the investigation.
"The Osceola Sheriff’s Office will not be releasing any additional information regarding the shooting at this time," a department spokesperson said. "That includes the surveillance video from Walmart."
They did note body-worn cameras and other public records will be available "once FDLE is at a certain point in their investigation."
