During its monthly meeting held in October, the Toho Water Authority board of supervisors welcomed a new board member and held its annual election of officers.

Henry Thacker, a commercial construction project manager with Balfour Beatty, took the oath of office to begin a new, three-year term on the board. He was appointed to the board to replace Board Chair Clarence Thacker, who successfully completed his term following nine years of service on the Board.

In the election of officers, Hector Lizasuain was elected board chairman. He is the director of government affairs and planning for Magic Development.

In addition, the board appointments include:

Vice Chairman Domingo Sanchez, Secretary Bill Land and Supervisor Jim Swan

Toho is governed by a five-member board of supervisors responsible for approving all its operating policies and operating budget. Toho was established for the sole purpose of providing regional stewardship over water resources in Osceola County. Specifically, the board approves annual budgets, sets rates and approves major purchases. The board also directs an executive director who is responsible for day-to-day operations of the water utility.
