Exotic animals in Kissimmee? Their scaly skins may just make yours crawl!
It’s a lineup of things you just don’t see every day — bearded dragons, turtles, ball pythons, geckos and other slithering creatures.
It’s all part of the annual Repticon, back at Osceola Heritage Park for its annual stop Saturday and Sunday. Breeders, vendors and fans of animals not normally seen at your local pet shop will come together. In fact, some vendors will allow guests to handle and interact with the animals, such as snakes. Just ask the owner if it’s okay before touching them.
With herpetology (the study of amphibians and reptiles, like frogs, lizards, snakes, turtles and the like) on the minds and lips of those in attendance, guests can come with an open mind — and leave with a new pet, with a choice among hundreds of invertebrates, spiders, and ither small exotic animals. Repticon Kissimmee is also an opportunity to get merchandise, cages, supplies, and both live and frozen feeders, as well as to get expert advice about caring for their new household member.
The show is from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday. Tickets are only sold online at https://repticon.com/ florida/kissimmee/.
