Pioneer Village at Shingle Creek and the Osceola County Welcome Center & History Museum will reopen on Friday, May 15. Both locations will be open daily from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
“We will continue to follow state and local recommendations regarding the capacity in the buildings and will provide thorough cleaning throughout the day to ensure the safety of our staff and visitors,” said Executive Director Kimberly Murray.
History Field Trips
Parents looking for history lessons as they wrap up the virtual school year, can plan a visit to Pioneer Village or the History Museum. Pioneer Village is a collection of buildings that tell the story of Osceola County’s early settlers. Reservations are recommended for guided tours of Pioneer Village (offered on Monday, Wednesday and Saturday at no extra charge) since group sizes are limited. To make a reservation, email jozef@osceolahistory.org or call 407-396-8644, ext. 2. Reservations are not needed for self-guided tours. Admission: $8 adults; $4 children ages 4-12. Pioneer Village is located at 2491 Babb Road in Kissimmee.
The Osceola County Welcome Center & History Museum features exhibits showing the evolution of the region’s environment including early Seminole life, wildlife in the Florida pines and swamps, the cattle industry, and the rise of modern transportation and tourism.
