Beginning Wednesday, May 6, all library book drops will be open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. to allow citizens to return library materials.

Beginning Friday, May 8, all county libraries will be offering curbside service to allow citizens to have a contactless pickup for their holds or other library materials that they have requested.

Beginning Friday, May 8, the Hart Memorial and Buenaventura library branches will open up to the public from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday through Friday. All other county library branches are scheduled to open on Friday, May 15. Anyone who plans on visiting the libraries should be aware of the following requirements as the county works to insure a safe environment for library users and staff:

•Face coverings for everyone over the age of 2 years old must be worn while in the libraries. The library will not provide masks for customers.

Each person may bring in one bag, which can be no larger than a regular backpack.

Library collections will not be open for browsing – residents can find materials in the library’s online catalog and request that staff retrieve the resource for them.

Children’s areas will remain closed to the public.

Seating will be limited to 25 percent of our normal seating capacity. Due to the limited capacity, library visitors will be asked to complete their business within a two-hour period so that others may enter the facility. After two hours you may be asked to leave the library.
