Old Tampa Highway will be closed to traffic for 10 days between Broad Street and Jack Calhoun Drive beginning at 9 a.m. on Monday, June 22 for the new Hoagland Boulevard road construction project.

The closure is designed to expedite construction and minimize additional inconvenience to Osceola County commuters on Old Tampa Highway.

Old Tampa Highway is scheduled to reopen by Friday, July 3.

The road closure will allow contractors to construct barrier walls and reconstruct Old Tampa Highway more safely and efficiently, avoiding an additional four weeks of traffic disruptions on Old Tampa Highway. For more information about the project and other planned road improvements in Osceola County, visit www.osceola.org/osceola-roads

During the road closure, motorists are advised to use U.S. Highway 17-92 as a southern east-west detour and U.S. Highway 192 for northern east-west travel, or follow the detour signs to alternate routes.  Be advised that the dates and times of this work may change, depending on weather conditions and other unforeseen construction issues that may arise in the field.
