Less than a week after bringing the new Fire Station 43 online in Campbell City online, Osceola County Fire Rescue again joined dignitaries in opening another new station.
Fire Station 83 is located on North Marigold Avenue in Poinciana, and brings the total number of fire stations in service with OSCFR to 19, and the seventh station in three years, county officials said. New facilities for three existing stations on Cypress Parkway, in the Four Corners area and the Campbell City one have also recently been opened.
“Osceola County’s commitment to improving public safety is clearly seen in the opening of yet another new fire station,” said Osceola County Commission Chairman Brandon Arrington, whose District 3 includes Poinciana. “This new station in Poinciana will help keep our community and loved ones safer in times of need.”
Station 83 will house new Engine 83 and EMS Rescue 83 in its two apparatus bays, a part of the 8,553 square feet of space that also features living and work space for the station’s on-duty personnel. Construction began in December 2024 and was delivered in 14 months.
“It’s amazing to see how far our department has come not just in the last 3 years, but the last 30-plus years,” said Fire Chief Larry Collier. “As we build new stations and bring on new apparatus that increase our capacity to serve the community, I continue to have the greatest pride in our people, whose hard work and dedication drives our ability to fulfill our mission.”
