Showers and thunderstorms continue to be possible each afternoon through the week along with hot and very humid conditions with heat index readings of 101 to 106.
Hurricane Laura brought 134 mph winds to Louisiana, and we are just now getting into the heart of the hurricane season.
We are expecting it to get pretty active during September and October, so we will have to be on guard in our area.
Did you know the National Weather Service operates a series of radio stations across the country that broadcast continuous weather conditions? During threats of severe weather, an alarm is sounded to wake you up in the night or get your attention during the day.
These weather radios can be found by going to amazon.com or midlandusa.com and under products you will see NOAA weather radios.
A good one can be purchased for around $40 and there is a deluxe version for $70 with lots of added features.
If you have any questions, feel free to drop me an e-mail at weather1@charter.net and I can help you locate the frequency for this area.
