Fast Lane Aquatics, beginner and competitive swim team, which meets at the Mary Jane Arrington Gym and Aquatic Center, is currently holding registration for the 2020 season.

Their spring season runs from March to May; summer season is June to August; and fall season is September to November. Cost is $200 per season or $75 per month.

Practices are held Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 5 p.m. and Saturday 1 p.m. The Mary Jane Arrington Gym and Aquatic Center is located at 625 Country Club Road.

▶ Spring cleaning is in full swing. The first day of Spring is March 19. Roll up your sleeves, start cleaning, air out your home and donate excess that you no longer need. The Association of Poinciana Villages (APV) has partnered with Charity Clothing Pickup now providing clothing donation boxes and virtual clothing drive. Donation boxes are located at the northside of the Administration Building, 401 Walnut St. All proceeds will go to your choice of either The Paralyzed Veterans or American Red Cross. ▶ March is National Reading Month. The Rotary Club of Poinciana is holding a Ready to Read Book Drive. New and gently used K-12 books (especially early reader books, picture story books, chapter books and middle grade novels) are being collected.

Books may be dropped off March 13 and 27 at 7:45 a.m. at Poinciana Medical Center, 325 Cypress Parkway, or contact Wendy Farrell at wendyf425@yahoo.com or call 407-288-4062.

▶ Dr. Owen Kieran of the Poinciana Medical Center will host a lecture, giving information on hernia symptoms and treatments including minimal invasive robotic procedures. ▶ The next Driver Safety Program will be Saturday, March 14, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Poinciana Medical Center, 325 Cypress

The AARP Driver Safety Program helps participants refine driving skills and develop safe driving habits. Upon completion of the course, drivers 55 and older may qualify for vehicle insurance discounts.

Cost of Safe Driver course is $15 for AARP members, $20 for non-members. To register, call 407-314-1798.
