Expressway Authority to hold public meetings for State Road 534 Phase 2

The Central Florida Expressway Authority is holding a public meeting for State Road 534 regarding Phase 2 of the project, which is currently in design from east of Narcoossee Road to Cyrils Drive.

Phase 2 of SR 534 is a 3.5-mile section of the 14-mile expressway that is intended to support the current and projected travel needs in southeast Orange and northeast Osceola counties. SR 534 will also be a critical component of a future regional network of expressways, known as the Southern Beltway, serving Orange, Osceola, and Polk Counties.

The SR 534 Phase 2 public meeting is being held both in-person and virtually. Both meetings will present identical information and provide the latest design project update.

The In-Person Meeting will be held Wednesday, Sept. 16, from 5:30-7:30 p.m.at Narcoossee Middle School. A video presentation will be held in the cafeteria, and exhibits in the Gym, where staff will be available for questions.

The Virtual Meeting will be held on Thursday, Sept. 17, at 5:30 via Microsoft Teams. Registration is required at https://bit.ly/3SOIlj8.

Design of Phase 1 for State Road 534, from SR 417 near Boggy Creek Road to Narcoossee Road is being finalized. Construction of the 8.4-mile section (Phases 1 and 2) of SR 534 between SR 417 and Cyrils Drive is expected to begin in 2027 and is anticipated to partially open to traffic in 2030. All 14 miles of SR 534, which includes Phase 3, are anticipated to be fully completed by 2032. More information about all three phases of the project can be found at https://bit.ly/3SOIlj8.
