You might say some people did a doubletake at the recent 2020 Osceola County Fair Market Hog Show.

For the first time in KVLS history, a set of 13-year-old twins won the top title of Grand and Reserve Market Hog Champions out of 125.

Blake Jeannin and his hog, Hamie, weighed in at 270 pounds, winning the top award – 2020 Market Hog Grand Champion. His twin sister, Bailee Jeannin, and her hog, Ellie Mae, weighing in at 284 pounds, took the Reserved Grand Champion seat.

It was Blake’s first Grand Champion award, and his fourth year showing a market hog, where he had previously always won either first or second-place in his class. Hamie’s breed is a Hampshire. She came to Blake’s home on Sept. 22, 2019, and weighed just 75 pounds. Blake spent 220 days on his hog project, which included daily walking, feeding and more. Market animal project participants are required to do a “Record Book” that entails a lot of details, such as, animal weight and feed conversion, income and expense records and much more.

Bailee has been showing Market Hogs for five years, and this was her highest award to date for this project. Ellie Mae’s breed is a Blue Butt and weighed 80 pounds when Bailee got her. Embracing the agriculture way of life is nothing new for Bailee. She was the 2019 Miss Rodeo Florida Princess and 2017 Little Miss Silver Spurs.

They have both been a member of the Ewe-Neek Country Kids 4H group since they were 5-years old, starting out as a Cloverbud and showing Citrus Trees.
