Department of Health: Obey CDC guidelines on July 4

As the Fourth of July holiday approaches, Florida Department of Health officials said it was important to celebrate safely and follow Centers for Disease Control guidelines to prevent the spread of COVID-19.

The Department of Health recently issued a public health advisory promoting wearing cloth face coverings in public, encouraging elderly and vulnerable populations to limit interactions outside of the home and urging all individuals to refrain from participating in large gatherings. Everyone is encouraged to practice good hand hygiene, stay home when sick, maintain 6 feet of distance when around others and clean and disinfect frequently touched surfaces. These simple practices help prevent the spread of the virus and protect the most vulnerable in the community.
