This intersection was known for other similar incidents, especially before nearby Celebration High School opened in 2003. World Drive ends about a quarter-mile after an interchange with Interstate 4, and used to meet Celebration Boulevard at a curve. Prior to extending Celebration to the school, county officials added a signage, a flashing light and a fence to help prevent these incidents. There is currently a traffic light at that intersection.
