A construction worker was killed in a Poinciana Boulevard crash on Oct. 23, after he was trying to stop traffic.
A 71-year-old driver from Kissimmee was driving a sedan-type of vehicle at about 6:55 a.m. southbound on Poinciana Boulevard, near Rail Circle, when the 43-year-old construction worker from Longwood attempted to stop southbound traffic, according to a Florida Highway Patrol report.

The traffic in the left lane stopped, however traffic in the right lane did not, and the worker was hit by the Kissimmee driver.

The construction worker was taken to Osceola Regional Medical Center where he was pronounced dead.

The crash remains under investigation.
