Here’s a list of honors earned by Osceola County scholars at out-of-the-area universities or institutions, as reported by Merit Pages News:
The International Brotherhood of Teamsters Scholarship Fund’s list of Class of 2026 scholarship award recipients includes Antonella Cuellar Acosta of Kissimmee. Antonella is the daughter of Luis Cuellar, a member of Teamsters Local 79 employed by UPS. Antonella is a recent graduate of Poinciana High School and will attend University of South Florida in the fall. The Teamsters Scholarship Fund proudly awards 600 $2,000 scholarships each year, and in just three short years, more than 1,600 scholarships have been awarded. Teamsters scholarships are awarded to high school seniors planning to enroll in four-year college after graduation, community college transfer students, and students who plan to attend trade or vocational schools. Applicants must be the daughter, son, or financial dependent of a Teamster.
Frances Melendez of Kindred has earned a spot on Goodwin University (East Hartford, Conn.) President’s List for the spring 2026 session.
Autumn Remy of Kissimmee has been named to the Spring 2026 Emmanuel College (Boston, Mass.) Dean’s List, as has Sarah Linares Cueto at Georgia Southern University.
Ohio University College of Health Sciences and Professions student Milka De La Cruz of Kissimmee has been named to the school’s Spring 2026 President’s List. Ohio U. also named Daphaney Lantigua Sanchez and Ethan Webb of St. Cloud to its Dean’s List.
Hanna Nguyen of St. Cloud, majoring in Political Science, has been named to Youngstown State (Ohio) University’s President’s List.
Aleksandra Kovalenko of St. Cloud has been named to the Spring 2026 Presidential Honor List at New York Institute of Technology.
The University of Maryland Global Campus (UMGC) graduated more than 7,300 students worldwide in the spring 2026 term, including: Laura Benavides, Tammen Birondo, Charles Chambliss, Alexander Palmer and Jeremy Woody of Kissimmee; LaRiesha Browne of Davenport; Joseph Hocking, Penn Njifor and Evana Scott of St. Cloud; LaDera Swiger of Poinciana and Malgorzata Villanueva of Harmony.
