The city of Kissimmee is gathering public input to set the priority goals for the Five-Year Consolidated Plan that will govern funding allocations for the Community Block Grant and HOME program funds.
The survey, which is available online at www.kissimmee.org/plan, is designed to collect the citizens’ input to identify the community’s needs. By completing the survey, people will help the City set future goals to serve the community better.
As a recipient of Federal entitlement grant fund, the city of Kissimmee is required to submit a Consolidated Plan to the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) every five years. The Five-Year Consolidated Plan planning process serves as the framework for a community-wide dialogue to identify housing, economic, and community development priorities.
The Consolidated Plan is implemented through Annual Action Plans, which provide a concise summary of the actions, activities, and Federal resources that will be used each year to address the priority needs and goals identified in the Consolidated Plan.
As part of this effort, the city is hosting Community Development Public Meetings. They will be:
•Wednesday, Feb. 20, from 6:30 to 8 p.m., at Mark Durbin Park Community Center, 2253 Lakeside Drive, Kissimmee.
•Wednesday, Feb. 26, from 6:30 to 8 p.m. at
Oak Street Park Community Center, 717 Palm Ave., Kissimmee.
