One positive thing that has come out of the COVID-19 “Stay-at-Home” order is that many people have discovered their own hidden talents.
There are many pictures on social media of folks honing their skills at painting, home improvements and above all there is plenty of photos of gourmet looking home cooked meals.
The Association of Poinciana Villages (APV) is looking for delectable dishes to help assemble “Poinciana Plates,” a new community recipe book. If you would like to submit a recipe, APV has specific criteria: Name and type of recipe (example: main dish, side dish, dessert, etc.); list of ingredients with proper measurements; detailed instructions, yield/serving size, and recipe owner/creator name. As people are home now, they’re also spending more time tending to their lawn. APV in conjunction with UF/IFAS Extension is offering free online presentations on Lawn Care through ZOOM on Thursday, April 23, from 10 to 11 a.m. Speaker Grantly Ricketts, commercial horticultural agent with UF/IFAS Extension Osceola County will discuss lawn irrigation, mowing, fertilization, weed control, insects and disease control.
