The Osceola Council on Aging will open the online pre-application period for Buen Vecino, on Friday, June 12 at 9 a.m.
Buen Vecino is a new affordable housing community for adults age 62 and older in Buenaventura Lakes. Eligible residents—those with $40,250 annual income or less in a one-person household or $46,000 for a two-person household—will pay rent based on household income in accordance with federal Housing and Urban Development guidelines. Preapplications will be accepted online only and placed on the waiting list in the order received.
To help ensure everyone has access to the application process, OCOA is partnering with Osceola County to provide application assistance hubs for individuals who need internet access or help completing the online preapplication. Submitting a preapplication does not guarantee housing.
Assistance will be available at:
Osceola Council on Aging’s main campus (700 Generation Point, Kissimmee), starting at 9 a.m. Friday;
Osceola County Housing & Community Services (1392 E. Vine St.), 9 a.m.;
The libraries in Celebration (9 a.m.), Buenaventura Lakes (9 a.m.), Hart Memorial in Kissimmee (10 a.m.), St. Cloud Veteran’s Library (10 a.m.) and Poinciana (1-4 p.m.).
