RC Towing will host a back-to-school drive on Saturday, Aug. 1 from 12-5 p.m. at the 7-Eleven at the corner of Hemlock and Marigold Avenues. Giveaways include book bags and school supplies including notebooks, pencils and pens, crayons and markers, folders and more.

The Florida Department of Health in Osceola County has issued a Health Alert for the presence of harmful blue-green algal toxins in Lake Marian, south of the boat ramp off Lakeside Boulevard.This is in response to a water sample taken on July 23.

The Association of Poinciana Villages (APV) will host a back to School Bash on Saturday, Aug. 1 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Anthony DePalma Event Center, 395 Marigold Ave. Students in grades K-12 will receive a free backpack filled with school supplies (while supplies last).
