Arrington Center will be COVID-19 testing site

 The Mary Jane Arrington Gym and Aquatic Center, 625 Country Club Drive, will be a COVID-19 testing site.  

Testing will be done on Wednesday, June 17, through Friday, June 19, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. These free COVID-19 testing is being provided by the Osceola County Health Department. You do not need to show symptoms to be tested. Those interested in being tested will need to make an appointment by calling 407-343-2000. You must wear face coverings to go inside the facility to receive your test.

Effective Monday, June 15, some of the facilities in Poinciana have reopened at 50 percent capacity.  

The Vance Harmon Dog Park and playgrounds are now open.  Sports courts and fields are available for rentals. Clubs and activities at the Anthony DePalma Center are to resume at the discretion of the group leaders.   

The APV Fitness Center is currently operating by reservation only (no walk-ins), Monday through Friday, from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m., Saturday, from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.  To reserve your two-hour time slot, call 863-427-0900, ext. 401 (Fitness Membership or $2 pass required).  

The Poinciana Victory Pool is operating Wednesday through Sunday, from  9 a.m. to 6 p.m.  Reservations are required, call 863-427-0900, Ext. 501, Monday through Friday to reserve your spot (pool membership or $5 day pass required).

The Association of Poinciana Villages (APV) presents its next contest, just in time for Father’s Day - My SuperHero Dad Contest. Tell APV why your Dad is your Super Hero. Include the following: child’s name and age, 100 words or less, explaining why your dad is your super hero and a photo of you and your dad. The entry deadline is June 19.  All entries will be shared on social media.  

The winner of My SuperHero Dad Contest wins a bike. In addition to winning a new bike, there will be a front-page featured article in the Poinciana Pioneer.  Father’s Day is June 21.
