The flooding from Hurricane Ian continues to have effects in Osceola County despite perfect weather the last three days. Now residents in one part of St. Cloud are being asked to voluntarily evacuate due to 

A voluntary evacuation order has been issued for Blackberry Creek and Pemberly Pines, located on the west side of Brown Chapel Road, due to rising flood waters from the St. Cloud canal. The City of St. Cloud reported Sunday morning its has teams going door to door making notifications.

Residents should evacuate to the emergency shelter at Osceola Heritage Park. Emergency resources are available to help those who cannot safely leave -- it may be difficult or impossible for small vehicles to exit through flood waters. Those needing assistance are being told to call 9-1-1.

City engineers and emergency managers are working with the South Florida Water Management District and the Army Corps of Engineers, who have been on hand in the county, to address the rising flood waters.

This follows a mandatory evacuation of Good Samaritan Village Friday and another voluntary evacuation at Shingle Creek Reserve near The Oaks.
