Warrant issued for sex offender who failed to register

Osceola County Sheriff’s detectives have obtained a felony warrant for Kevin Dwight McCarver for failing to failing to comply with sex offender registration laws.

On April 25, McCarver was released from the Osceola County Jail after serving time for failing to comply with offender registration laws. He notified the Sheriff’s Office he was moving to Gwinnett County, Ga.

On May 8, the Gwinnett County Sheriff’s Office notified the Sheriff’s Office that McCarver had not registered. Florida law requires all registered sex offenders to report a residential change within 48 hours of moving. Based on this information, Osceola County Sheriff’s detectives with the Sex Offender Unit obtained a felony warrant.

McCarver is described as a white male, approximately 6 feet tall, weighing 235 pounds with brown hair and blue eyes. McCarver was convicted of a sex offense on June 8, 1998, in Alameda, Calif.
