Volunteers needed for Brownie Wise Park tree planting

Posted on Tuesday, April 18, 2017 at 10:13 am

Volunteers are needed for a tree planting scheduled for Saturday morning at Brownie Wise Park at Tupperware Island.
The county’s newest recreational and conservation area can be found at 1150 Aultman Road, just south of Neptune Road between Kissimmee and St. Cloud. The event starts at 8:30 a.m. and county staff will coordinate plantings. Volunteers should consider bringing their own hat, sunglasses, gloves, sunscreen and water/snacks.
Located on Lake Tohopekaliga, the site offers a unique combination of wildlife and habitat. As part of celebrations for Earth Day and Arbor Day, hundreds of plants and trees will be installed as part of an ecological restoration and wildlife habitat enhancement, officials said.
