The high school volleyball season is cranking up with county teams participating in a series of preseason jamborees.

Most of the action will be at St. Cloud High Thursday where eight teams will compete at the Bulldogs gym starting at 5 p.m.

Joining the host Bulldogs are Liberty, Gateway, City of Life, Heritage Christian, Cypress Creek, Evans and University. Gates open at 4:30 p.m. and admission is $5.

All teams will play two best-of-three matches.

Osceola, the defending 9A-7 district champion, faces a tough challenge at the West Orange jamboree where the Lady Kowboys will see action against host West Orange and Olympia.

Harmony, a regional qualifier last season, goes to Viera for its jamboree test.

Heritage Christian, the defending Florida Christian Conference champion, already owns an impressive tournament championship when it claimed its own Eagles Invitational last weekend by defeating Grace Christian for the title.

The Lady Eagles have won three consecutive conference crowns.
The regular season matches begin next week.
