Looking for something to do this weekend? Take a trip to Melbourne for Cirque Italia — America’s first traveling Water Circus. The show is happening at Wickham Park Thursday through Sunday.
Here’s five things you need to know about this unique, and family-friendly show:
-This circus is different from traditional circuses in that, well, it doesn’t use animals in any of its acts. While Cirque Italia uses puppets that look like animals, all of the company’s shows are strictly animal free.
-Cirque Italia focuses on keeping the traditional “big top circus feel” under the tent, so the children of today can still enjoy the same experience their parents might have experienced years ago.
-The show offers some truly incredible acts. Guests can watch contortionists, mermaids and a laser man, and even see the wheel of death.
-Cirque Italia’s performers are some of the best circus artists from around the globe. Cirque Italia believes multi-culturalism is one of its strongest assets.
-An ultra-modern water curtain controls every droplet of water meticulously. Words and beautiful patterns can be seen as the water falls to the “lagoon” below synchronized with the most creative display of superhuman talent.
