The third annual Kissimmee Bike Bonanza has been rescheduled to Friday, after being rained out on its original date of Friday, April 5.
The bike ride through Kissimmee’s downtown area is presented by Kissimmee Main Street, the city of Kissimmee, AdventHealth, the Florida Department of Transportation’s reThink Your Commute program and Bike/Walk Central Florida — all working together to promote a greener form of transportation.
“There are countless reasons we should all bike to work, from fitness and fun to helping the environment with one less car on the road,” said Barbara Giles, program manager for Bike/Walk Central Florida. “The Kissimmee Bike Bonanza offers an enjoyable opportunity for people to try an alternative transportation method other than one-person-one-vehicle. You could even try two greener methods if you ride the SunRail with your bike to the start of the event.”
Registration for the event opens at 7 a.m., at the Kissimmee Civic Center located at 201 E. Dakin St. The ride is scheduled to leave promptly at 7:45 a.m.

In addition to the Kissimmee Bike Bonanza, Bike/Walk Central Florida is offering registration for Bike 5 Cities Ride. The event is a 28-mile regional bike ride on trails and bike-friendly roads through Winter Park, Orlando, Casselberry, Maitland and Eatonville. Bike 5 Cities Ride will be on May 4. Registration is open through April 30.
