The date (and table) is set. Metro Diner is ready for business.

The diner that declares itself a Hunter’s Creek resident will officially open its doors to Kissimmee for the first time on Tuesday, April 30.

“Guests feel at home when they come to Metro Diner because we welcome them as if they are coming to our own house,” Hunter’s Creek Metro Diner Managing Partner Susan McDougal said in a press release. “Metro Diner is known as the place where ‘the locals eat’ and we hope to be the new go-to destination where Kissimmee diners turn into regulars.”

The 3,700-square-foot diner just off Osceola Parkway will feature a menu of traditional diner classics — from signature dishes like its chicken and waffles and Charleston shrimp and grits, to simple pleasures like biscuits and sausage gravy.

Plus, the diner will offer Kissimmee its highlighted “Pulled Pork Mac Stack” — a half-pound of barbecue pulled pork, piled over creamy macaroni and cheese, and a cheddar cornbread waffle topped with maple butter — that was once featured on the Cooking Channel’s show Cheap Eats.

And, of course, it wouldn’t be a true diner without all-day breakfast.

“Breakfast is what diners are known for and we are proud to be a place where our guests can enjoy our twists on breakfast classics such as our fried chicken and waffles, cinnamon roll pancake and San Francisco Benedict any time of the day,” McDougal told the News-Gazette. “We look forward to serving our indulgent made-from-scratch recipes to the family-friendly community of Hunter’s Creek.”

Guests who want to get in on the action early and support causes in the community can reserve their spot today for Metro Diner’s pre-opening charity events, happening this weekend.

All donations will benefit Give Kids the World on Saturday (April 27), and the American Cancer Society on Sunday (April 28).

Reservations for the pre-opening events can be made by calling 407-749-6998.

Metro Diner will officially open on Tuesday, April 30, at 7 a.m. Daily operating hours are 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Saturday, and 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Sunday.
