Construction is in full swing for Aquatica Orlando’s newest attraction. While the park has not yet released an official opening date, the new Ray Rush raft slide is expected to open later this spring.
The raft seats a minimum of two riders and a maximum of four riders, and the ride itself has a height requirement of only 42 inches— an adventure suitable for the whole family.
“Aquatica has always been a very family-friendly park, and when we have an opportunity to add a family thrill ride like Ray Rush, it just makes sense,” said Aquatica Vice President David Heaton. “I think our guests will really enjoy the dynamics and unique elements of this ride.”
Climb up to the top of the 60-foot slide before experiencing the ride’s three unique elements: the launch, the sphere and the open-air half pipe.
From the release: “Triple your fun with the three-in-one thrills of Ray Rush, new at Aquatica Orlando. Ray Rush is the fully-loaded water adventure with three ways to slide, splash and soar like never before. First, water jets launch your raft from zero to awesome in just seconds. Your adventure takes a twisting turn as you spin inside a colossal water sphere. Finally, dive into the giant manta wings, swooping up and down a different path each time.”
Ray Rush is the first new attraction to come to the park since 2014.
“We think it’s going to be a great addition to Aquatica, as Aquatica celebrates its 10th anniversary this year,” said Heaton. “What better way to celebrate your birthday than with a new attraction.”
In addition to the water ride, Aquatica will add another section of 200 lounge chairs to this area.
