Everything is awesome at LEGOLAND Florida. The all-new The LEGO Movie World area of the Central Florida theme park is now open.
“We couldn’t be more excited to officially open The LEGO Movie World,” said Rex Jackson, general manager of LEGOLAND Florida Resort. “The LEGO Movie World is a key piece to our expansion and growth as we further cement ourselves as a multi-day destination.”
The LEGO Movie World is the biggest expansion to come to the Florida park since it opened in fall of 2011, featuring three new rides and several attractions — all inspired by the characters and story of the animated film “THE LEGO MOVIE” and its sequel “THE LEGO MOVIE 2: The Second Part.”
Each of the new rides is family friendly, as guests can soar over a 180-degree virtual reality LEGO world on Emmet’s Triple Decker Couch on Masters of Flight, soar up to the top of Cloud Cuckoo Land and drop back down to Earth on Unikitty’s Disco Drop, and even stop DUPLO aliens from invading on a (very wet) boat ride on the Battle of Bricksburg.
“The LEGO Movie World is a game changer for LEGOLAND Florida Resort,” said Keith Carr, project director of Merlin Magic Making. “The immersion and theming that we’ve incorporated into the area is unlike anything we’ve ever done. Our guests will have so much fun on all three rides, but the land’s marquee ride, THE LEGO MOVIE Masters of Flight encompasses the only 180-degree turn on a flying theater in the world.”
After enjoying the rides, guests can explore the rest of the area — where they can shop in the Awesome Shop, grab a taco at Taco Everyday (where every day is Taco Tuesday) and enjoy a space travel-themed playground.
And not only do guests feel like LEGO minifigures while exploring The LEGO Movie World, but they can meet some of the movie’s minifigures too. Emmet and his friends are available for character meet-and-greets and photo opportunities at Emmet’s Super Suite.
