Here’s everything you need to know about Busch Gardens’ all-new ‘Bier Fest’

In need of a quick getaway for Labor Day weekend? Visit Tampa Bay’s Busch Gardens for its first weekend of Bier Fest, an all-new event running weekends Aug. 25 through Sept. 16.

Bier Fest pairs the local craft scene with thrill rides for a weekend full of “#ThrillsOnTap,” featuring more than 100 beers from 60 different breweries around the world.

Florida’s local brews include 3 Daughters Brewing, 7venth Sun Brewing, Big Storm Brewing Company, Cigar City Brewing Company, Coppertail Brewing Company,  Crooked Thumb Brewery,  Florida Avenue Brewing Company,  Funky Buddha Brewery,  Green Bench Brewing Company, Islamorada Beer Company, M.I.A. Beer Company, Swamp Head Brewery and Tampa Bay Brewing Company.

Brews from beyond the Sunshine State include Founders Brewing Company, Goose Island Beer Company,  Hofbräu München, Kona Brewing Company, Köstritzer, Lagunitas Brewing Company, Narragansett Beer, New Belgium Brewing Company, Samuel Adams, SeaDog Brewing Company, SweetWater Brewing Company, Warsteiner and Yuengling.

With a grand selection of brews comes the need for some bites. Bier Fest offers a contemporary menu, with themed culinary cabins featuring small-plate options.

Guests of Bier Fest can enjoy two-bite burgers at Das Sliders, including all-beef, Cuban-style and all-plant burgers; bite-sized Reuben croquettes, soft pretzel sticks with bacon beer-cheese dip and mac and cheese fritters at Hops & Handhelds; classic fish and chip meals at Tavern; seared skewers of beef, chicken, kielbasa and vegetables at Kebabs; and many more other delights.

The Best of the Wurst will offer traditional German handheld “fast food,” as it takes a new twist with curry wurst – knockwurst, fresh caraway slaw, and curry ketchup on a pita; brat wurst – spiced German sausage on a pretzel roll; and schnitzel – thin pork cutlet fried and topped with Swiss cheese and mushrooms on a pretzel roll.

Admission to Bier Fest is included in general Busch Gardens theme park admission. Bier Fest’s foods and beverages are available for purchase.

In addition to celebrating #ThrillsOnTap during Bier Fest, guests can become members of the Busch Gardens Brew Club —which includes a stein and discounted brews all year long.
