Ghostbusters coming to Halloween Horror Nights

It might be Christmas in July, but Universal Orlando Resort already has Halloween season on its mind.

The theme park recently announced another theme to join this year’s Halloween Horror Nights event — Ghostbusters.

This is the first time ever that this Sony Pictures’ classic film will be brought to the annual Halloween event, as some of the most memorable scenes, characters and supernatural spirits will make their big debut.

The film will theme one of Halloween Horror Nights’ most immersive mazes, as it showcases the comedic yet frightful tale of four paranormal investigators on their quest to eradicate supernatural threats from creating chaos in New York City.

The maze will follow Ghostbusters Peter, Ray, Egon and Winston through recreated scenes — including the firehouse, New York Public Library and the Temple of Gozer.

And, of course, it wouldn’t be Halloween Horror Nights without running into some frightful faces. Guests will come face-to-face with several of the film’s paramormal creatures, including Slimer, Gozer the Gozerian and the Stay Puft Marshmallow Man — a perfect way to bring guests of Halloween Horror Nights a little closer to the Ghostbusters film during its 35th anniversary year.

Halloween Horror Nights is the premier Halloween event of Universal Orlando Resort and Universal Studios Hollywood. The event began more than 25 years ago, and annually features a number of horror film- and television-themed attractions within the event — including mazes, houses and more.
