April seems to be the month of giving, as many local agencies are hosting fundraisers to support their causes and missions. 

Here are three upcoming fundraisers to be aware of this April:

What: Sip and Savor 

Who: The event will benefit Help Now of Osceola’s community programs. 

About: Help Now of Osceola’s Sip and Savor fundraising event will feature some of the area’s finest restaurants for cocktails, beer, wine and treats. Plus live entertainment, a silent auction, games and more. It will be an evening to remember. 

When: Friday, April 12, from 6 to 9 p.m.

Where: Pioneer Village, located at 2491 Babb Road, Kissimmee.

Cost: Tickets are $75 per person, or $140 per couple. Corporate sponsorship tickets can be purchased for $1,000.

What: Designer Bag Bingo

Who: The event will benefit Special Olympics of Osceola County’s athletes and programs. 

About: Designer Bag Bingo offers a booklet of eight Bingo sheets (six cards per sheet) — one sheet for each game. Additional Bingo sheets and daubers can be purchased. There will also be a 50/50 drawing and other raffle prizes, plus desserts and wine available for donation. All bags are 100 percent genuine and come with original tags. 

When: Sunday, April 24, from 2 to 5 p.m.

Where: Knights of Columbus, located at 2000 Neptune Road, Kissimmee.

Cost: Tickets can be purchased in advance for $35, or at the door for $40.

What: Reading Between the Wines 

Who: The event will benefit Adult Literacy League’s tri-county (Osceola, Orange and Seminole counties) programs in one-on-one adult tutoring provided to more than 3,000 adult learners, and learning materials provided to more than 1,000 preschoolers and their families each year. 

About: Reading Between the Wines will feature Pulitzer Prize-winning and best-selling author Gilbert King. Guests can meet King, and also enjoy a selection of food and wine offerings from Central Florida restaurants such as Swine & Sons Provisions, 4Rivers Cantina Barbacoa, Raglan Road Irish Pub & Restaurant, Chef Art Smith’s Homecomin’ Florida Kitchen and more. 

When: Wednesday, April 17, from 6 to 9 p.m.

Where: Orlando Science Center, located at 777 E. Princeton St., Orlando.

Cost: Individual tickets are $99. A Connoisseur’s Table may be purchased for $750, including four event tickets, a reserved cocktail table, two gift bottles of wine and recognition as a sponsor in the event program.
