How do you like your tea — sweet or unsweetened?
Now you have a third choice, with tapioca pearls.
The very first Bubbleology tea café in the United States has opened at Florida Mall giving shoppers an exciting alternative to iced tea or coffee.
It’s an interesting and refreshing change from the traditional soft drinks and it is available in a variety of flavors making the possibilities just about limitless.
Bubbleology, which is available in seven countries, was started in Soho, London, in 2011 and now has several dozen locations in the United Kingdom.
Bubble tea actually originated in Taiwan in the 1980’s before gaining a more global acceptance.
There is nothing on the menu except bubble tea at the new Florida Mall venue, in the newly redesigned food court (Dining Pavilion).
You can choose from milk teas or fruit teas or try a special that has even more exotic combinations.
Milk teas include Assam, Jasmine, Oolong, Taro, Almond, Coconut, Mocha, Vanilla, Honeydew, Cocoa and Papaya.
Fruit tea flavors include Mango, Passion Fruit, Strawberry, Apple, Ginger, Kumquat, Lychee, White Peach, Raspberry and Kiwi.
Specials include British Banoffee Pie, Rainbow Ripple, English Rose Milk, Pomegranate Passion, Fruit & Cucumber, Strawberries & Cream and Cookies & Cream.
You can order all drinks without tapioca, but then you would be missing out on the fun.
It is just like the regular tapioca dessert, but more flavorful because of the various teas. You suck up the tapioca, along with the tea through an oversized straw. It may seem a bit strange at first, but most people should like the interesting taste sensation.
Milk and fruit teas come in small or regular sizes and are priced at $4.95 and $5.45. Specials are priced at $5.25 for small and $6.25 for regular.
Bubbleology is open during regular Florida Mall operating hours.
