This is it, Osceola. It’s the weekend we’ve all been waiting for. Country Thunder and the RAM National Circuit Finals Rodeo are both coming to Osceola Heritage Park this weekend — the first time ever that the venue will host a music festival and rodeo in the same weekend.

“The pairing of Country Thunder Florida and the RAM National Circuit Finals Rodeo maximizes the value for fans and promises a new level of entertainment for everyone,” Osceola County Commission Chairman Fred Hawkins Jr. said at the Country Thunder press conference held at OHP in 2018. “This is yet another step in making Osceola County a destination for a great country music and rodeo experience.”

Earlier this week, we announced on social media our winners for our “Show Toby Some Love” contest. The contest was to show Toby Keith some love by writing your best lyrics to, for, or about the one and only country superstar Toby Keith.

The grand prize winner received meet-and-greet tickets to meet Toby Keith, and on-stage seating for his Country Thunder concert, happening Friday night.

And the winner is…

Kolby U. of St. Cloud. He wrote lyrics to a song, to the tune of Toby Keith’s “Should’ve Been a Cowboy.”

I bet you’ve never heard of Osceola

Home of Country Thunder Florida, Toby let us show ya…

Here you could’ve been a cowboy, we could teach you how to rope and ride.

Come on down and stay a while, ride your pony in Kissimmee, Florida’s cattle drive.

But Kolby wasn’t the only one to walk away with something good. In addition to the ultimate giveaway, we gave more of our contestants 1-day and weekend passes to enjoy the festivities.

“It looks like we have some pretty good songwriters right here in Osceola County!” said Country Thunder Director of Marketing and Media Gerry Krochak. “(Kolby), we can’t wait to have you at Country Thunder Florida! You’re in for a treat when you meet Toby Keith and enjoy watching the show right up on the massive Country Thunder stage — talk about up-close-and-personal!

“Thank you to the wonderful people of Kissimmee, and thank you to the readers of the Osceola News-Gazette,” Krochak said. “See you all for a weekend like no other!”

This is the first time in history that Country Thunder Music Festivals is bringing its show to Kissimmee — as the touring festival travels throughout North America, from Arizona and Wisconsin (United States) to Alberta and Saskatchewan (Canada).

Single-day and weekend passes are still available for purchase. Admission may be purchased online at, or by phone by calling 1-866-388-0007.
