SeaWolves to play new team: San Diego Sockers

With the release of the 2019-20 MASL schedule, the Orlando SeaWolves will host a bevy of familiar foes from last season. The difference from last year is the addition of three new teams to the schedule that the SeaWolves have yet to face in their history. So, as we approach the season, let’s learn about a new team that will visit the Silver Spurs Arena this season.

San Diego Sockers

The Sockers, in their former iteration, were one of the most successful indoor teams, at one point winning 10 championships in 11 seasons. The current iteration of the team has existed since 2009 and currently holds the record for the longest winning streak in United States professional soccer history at 48 games. The team won four championships in their first four years of existence and in the last three seasons of MASL play, they have reached the conference finals each year. The Sockers host a bevy of talent that plays for their respective national teams and are always one of the top teams in the league. The SeaWolves host the Sockers on Thursday, Feb. 6.
