Did you catch any of the action from the American Bass Anglers (ABA) Ram Truck Open Series Area 5 championship last weekend down at the Kissimmee Lakefront Marina?
They had 76 boaters and co-anglers competing for some serious prize money.
Casey Gonzales of Brandon won the $10,000 top prize for his two-day, 10-bass total of 41.43 pounds. He spent most of his time fishing Lake Hatchineha and Lake Cypress.
He also took home the big bass paycheck of $730.
Not to bad for a weekend on the water!!
On the co-angler side, Giovanni Pena of Davenport brought 18.67 pounds to the scales in his two-day, six-fish limit. The co-angler top prize was $5,000.
Wednesday Night on West Lake Toho results: Not so many anglers on Sept. 21 due to the lake being off limits to those who also fished the ABA.
Five teams participated, and claiming the jackpot was Joe Moore and his partner, Carrot, with 7.64 pounds on a three-fish limit. Big fish of the night went to Charlie Harrelson at 3.78 pounds.
Next weekend, Oct. 8-9, The Lucas Oil Enigma Fishing Open will be held out of the Lake Toho Marina. This tournament is open to any angler. Entry fees are $55 per day.
This event is two single-day tournaments with a payout each day.
Guaranteed first place prize of $1,000 for the team with the highest two-day total.
Also, the best part…Enigma Fishing will be giving away “free rods” during this tournament!!
Sign up is available the morning of the event.
West Lake Toho Report: The gate at the locks is open and water is flowing thru at 2 feet.
The Lake water level is at 54.27 feet above sea level. Lake temperature is in the big 80s to low 90s.
Today is the first day of October and we are into our second weekend of fall.
I don’t know about you but I am ready for a change in the temperature. Makes being on the water all day a little more bearable!
Have a great weekend and tight lines friends!
