Harmony diver Amelia Wagner qualified for the Class 3A state swimming meet this week at the Sailfish Splash Waterpark and Aquatics Center in Stuart.

The swimming portion is today, but the divers took to the boards Friday afternoon (check www.aroundosceola.com this weekend for updates).

Wagner was fourth with 391.75 points at the Region 3A-2 meet last weekend in Lakeland to check off the box.

Wagner was part of a Lady Longhorns team effort that was 10th (91 points) at regionals. Harmony’s boys team finished 12th (66).

The boys and girls 200 medley relays finished 16th. Shayla Whaley was 16th in the 200 freestyle (2:21.56), Elly Clark was 10th in the 50 free (27.52) and 11th in the 100 free (1:00.96), Kaley Smith was 18th in the 100 butterfly (1:16.53) and 12th in the 500 free (6:13.09) and Rachel Nel went 14th in the breaststroke (1:21.19). The free relay team of Clark, Smith, Whaley and Nel was fourth in the 200 in 1:49.85 and 8th in the 400 in 4:11.06.

Alex Tanon was 12th in the 200 (2:04.38) and 11th in the 500 free (5:34.12), Hayden Bryant and Austin Cabot were 15th and 16th in the 50 free (24.59, 24.69), Cabot was 12th in the butterfly (59.04) and Nathan Envall was 16th in the 500 free (5:55.99). The free relay of Cabot, Tanon, Bryant and Cole LaFountain went eighth in the 200 (1:40.81) and 400 (3:43.53).

At the Region 4A-2 meet in Clearwater, Osceola’s boys 200 meter freestyle relay team of Esteban Moran, David Denarski, Jesus Machado and Noah Maniace was 13th in 1:36.88, which broke a Kowboys’ school record that went back to 2006.
