Posted on Wednesday, March 7, 2018 at 3:35 pm

A semi-truck crash snarled traffic on Interstate 4 in Osceola County Wednesday morning after the driver lost control of the vehicle.

According to a Florida Highway Patrol report, Frank Esperon, 52, of Auburndale, was driving the 1999 semi-truck eastbound on I-4 at mile marker 58, near ChampionsGate at about 5:50 a.m.

Esperon told troopers that a vehicle cut him off, causing him to lose control of the truck and struck a wall. The truck then jackknifed on I-4, spilling about 200 gallons of fuel onto the roadway, according to the report. The crash snarled traffic for several hours.

Esperon, who was wearing his seat belt, was not injured.

He was ticketed for careless driving.
