Posted on Wednesday, August 2, 2017 at 2:56 pm

Mirror, mirror, on the wall, what’s the most iconic restaurant of all?

Rave Reviews, the innovative ranking site that creates entertaining write-ups using advanced data-driven analysis, has published its ranking of the “50 Most Iconic American Restaurants.”

It’s a diverse group, and includes not suprisingly, local legend, Victoria and Albert’s at Disney World.

American restaurants are a collective mirror, reflecting the culture and diverse heritage of the United States. What these restaurants also show is the genius of their chefs. With awards and accolades, each restaurant comes alive through the vision of the culinary minds behind these innovative and delicious meals.

“From classic French fine dining in New York City to a conceptual avant-garde experience in Chicago to traditional Texas barbecue, American restaurants display their greatness from coast to coast in a variety of ways,” Taylor Barnes, the editor of Rave Reviews, said. “The inspirations are local and global, all at once.”

Rave Reviews’ selection process for this list of the 50 Great American Restaurants was based on data from the most recent rankings on Eater, Business Insider, The Daily Meal, Trip Advisor, and Open Table, along with special attention paid to the most recent James Beard Awardees. Once the list was compiled, the ranking used the aforementioned sources plus additional information available on Wikipedia and local digital food journalism along the following criteria: nostalgia rating, taste rating, cult rating, and hospitality rating.

The ranking for the 50 Most Iconic American Restaurants lists Alinea in Chicago in first, Blue Hill at Stone Barns in Pocantico Hills, New York in second, and Eleven Madison Park in New York City in third.
