Osceola County School District teacher of the year nominees announced

Ten finalists have been chosen for both Teacher of the Year and School-Related Employee of the Year within the Osceola County School District.
The following educators were named finalists for Teacher of the Year.
• Krystle Bayliss, English – Osceola High
• Janet Bisogno, IB Science – Celebration High
• Brittany Hague, Social Studies – Pleasant Hill Elementary
• Amy Henson, AVID – Narcoossee Middle
• Annette Hrncir, Kindergarten – Neptune Elementary
• Andrew Keech, History – Discovery Intermediate
• Yvonne Christiansen Kochensparger – AP & IB Science, Gateway High
• Amanda MacKenzie, Science – Horizon Middle
• Morgan Presto, Kindergarten/1st Grade ESE – Cypress Elementary
• Richard Steinmetz Jr., Pharmacy Technician Program – Liberty High
The following employees were named finalists for School-Related Employee of the Year:
• Robert Allers, Custodian – Kissimmee Middle
• Roberta Baldwin, Secretary – Lakeview Elementary
• Gayle Cape, Data Quality Analyst Lead – Information Services Department
• Kenneth Holbrook, Computer Technician – Celebration High
• Damian Lugo, Custodian – Central Avenue Elementary
• Vicki Massicotte, Bookkeeper – Narcoossee Middle
• Amelia Miranda, Paraprofessional – Adult Learning Center Osceola (ALCO)
• Brenda Santos, Educational Specialist – Special Programs
• Cindy Stevens, Accounts Payable Supervisor – Business & Fiscal Services
• Moses Younassoghlou, Building Automation System Specialist – Maintenance
Finalists were selected by judges based on their applications. Each finalist was surprised at work by District Superintendent Dr. Debra Pace to announce their finalist standing.
“These awards celebrate the academic excellence of our faculty and staff,” said Dana Schaffer, public information officer for the school district. “We have so many amazing teachers across the district, and this gives us a chance to highlight great ones before choosing one who exemplifies the hard work all of our teachers put forth each day.”
The names of Osceola County’s 2019 Teacher of the Year and Osceola County’s 2018 School-Related Employee of the Year will be announced at the Education Awards Ceremony held March 15 at Osceola Heritage Park.
